In 2000, I began writing my first novel, Portland Authority. It took me five years to finish. Family and work and other life events kept getting in the way, but, in 2005, on my birthday, no less, Portland Authority was published under the name I was born with, Shelly Cahoon.
In December of 2008, I began writing my current novel, The Letter. I put it off for a while to return to school for medical billing. Most of my time was taken up with studying and classes. When I found myself having a difficult time finding a job in medical billing, I began to ghost write for several different people, which brought in some money, but I still needed to work. That’s when I decided it was time to really buckle down and find a full-time job. I found the ideal career for me, working with Lena Hunt of Celebritze You. I started as a writer and worked my way to our newest program, mobile marketing. I work with Lena as a personal assistant, writer and website creation. We have been so busy since I completed my novel in December, but I am finding that I have an hour or so each evening to work on editing.
I have to say, it’s coming along very nicely, and I think before the end of the year, I may just be finished with it and talking to literary agents and publishers again.
I created this website to update my family, friends and fans on my progress of my book. I have finished writing The Letter and am currently editing. I will be publishing on Amazon.com. Wish me luck!
